2020年夏にリリースされるVALORANT(ヴァロラント)では、合計10人のエージェントが登場します。
現在はPhoenix(フェニックス)とViper(ヴァイパー)のプレイ映像が公開されていますが、おそらく1週間毎に1エージェントずつ発表されると予想されます。

初期は5人のエージェントが使用可能
IGNによると、VALORANTリリース直後は5人のエージェントがアンロックされており、誰でも無料でプレイすることが可能です。
残りの5人を使用するにはアンロックが必要となりますが、ゲーム内通貨を使用するか課金で手に入るポイントを使用することでアンロックすることができます。
VALORANT,the upcoming competitive PvP shooter from Riot Games, will launch with a roster of around 10 characters or ‘Agents’. Of that number, five will be available to use right away, while the other half will need to be unlocked using either in-game or real-world currency.

アンロックシステムはApex Legendsと同じ
使用キャラクターのアンロックシステムは特別なものではなく、同じようなシステムではApex Legendsが当てはまります。
ゲームをプレイする毎にゲーム内ポイントが貯まっていき、そのポイントを使用することでキャラクターをアンロックすることができます。
VALORANTも同じようなシステムを導入しているため、FPSユーザーであれば馴染み深いものでしょう。
Unlocking characters is done through an “engagement-incentivized model”, which is also used to unlock tiers on Valorant’s battle pass. Riot describes this as so: “Players will have the option of earning in-game content through playing and engaging with the game, or they can choose to purchase desired content as a shortcut.”

That essentially translates to players being able to earn characters and battle pass tiers via extended play, or unlocking them using real money instead. At a basic level, that’s the same as Apex Legends and many other games that feature both unlockable characters and battle passes.
